The job description for this position is as follows:

We are currently accepting applications for the post of Data Scientist Intern at the Amazon Off Campus 2023.

There are several responsibilities associated with this position:

• Analyze data and use statistical techniques to develop solutions that can improve the customer’s experience and guide business decisions to improve customer service

• Develop new approaches related to forecasting and prediction of business problems, as well as identify predictors and causes of these problems

• The process of identifying, developing, managing, and executing analyses in order to uncover potential business opportunities and make recommendations in writing

• Using your expertise as a leader of quantitative analysis, work closely with multiple teams to develop solutions that meet the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity and where you collaborate with multiple teams to develop them

• Identify and solve the root cause of business problems by conducting a root cause analysis

The following criteria must be met in order to qualify:

• A Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline is required. In order to succeed, you must have hands-on experience and a strong understanding of project-based learning in computer science, engineering, or mathematics.

• Expertise in manipulating and transforming data, selecting and training models, cross-validating models, and deploying models at scale, as well as academic experience in these areas.

• Experience with deep learning and machine learning toolkits such as MXNet, TensorFlow, Caffe, and PyTorch as part of your academic work or research project.

• Extensive experience with Apache Spark and Hadoop as well as other big data platforms.

• A familiarity with the Python, R, and SQL programming languages is required.

• It will be very helpful if you have experience with Amazon EMR, AWS Lambda, SageMaker, Machine Learning, IoT, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2 Container Service, Green Grass, and other AWS services related to AI/ML.

Skills that are preferred:

• Delivering large analytical solutions with a direct impact on the business is our track record

• R/SAS/Matlab and SQL experience are required

• An excellent understanding of Microsoft Office, including a strong working knowledge of Excel, is required

• I have a strong ability to solve problems in the field of big data as well as a passion for it

• The ability to communicate effectively and present data in an effective manner

• An excellent command of the English language, both in writing and speaking.
