There is an opening for the position of Engineer at Qualcomm.
The job entails the following responsibilities:
- As a software engineer in our team, you will have the opportunity to work with our global teams to ensure that our SW products are of the highest quality for our customers.
- This course will provide you with the opportunity to become an expert in location technology and its penetration in mobile phones as well as the growing number of non-mobile phones.
- Additionally, you will also have the chance to interact with various other embedded technology teams at Qualcomm that have been instrumental in the success of the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
- The course will not only allow you to broaden your understanding of embedded systems, but will also help you to improve your interpersonal and communication skills at the same time
Criteria for eligibility include the following:
- The following qualifications are required: B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics/Computers/Electricals
- Programming skills in C/C++, Python, and knowledge of data structures.
- It is preferred that the candidate has 0-2 years of SW development work experience in C or Assembly on an embedded platform for any portable device with a record of strong technical accomplishments.
Among the skills that are preferred are:
- There is a need for excellent English communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good analytical skills, problem solving skills, and sound reasoning skills are essential. Ideally, the candidate should be self-driven so that he or she can quickly get up to speed on various aspects of the software as well as be flexible to take up tasks as required by the project.
- It would be desirable to have worked on a sufficiently complex real-time SW module with multiple sub-blocks that were running on a real-time operating system.
- A knowledge of stack level debugging and the use of Trace32/JTAG, and other tools of this nature, is an added advantage.
- It is a plus if you are familiar with at least one source control tool (P4, CVS, SVN, etc.).
